Lohan plays the role of Maddie Kelly, a book editor harboring a significant secret: she is deeply in love with her author, the famous romance writer Paul Kennedy, portrayed by Alexander Vlahos. Despite Paul’s charming Irish persona, Maddie is aware of his lack of depth. The only person she has confided in about her feelings is her mother, Rosemary, played by Jane Seymour, who also serves as a high school principal in Des Moines, Iowa. Maddie intends to reveal her true emotions to Paul and her closest friends at the grand premiere of his latest book. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when her best friend Emma, portrayed by Elizabeth Tan, and Paul have a serendipitous encounter over a stray eyelash. Their instant chemistry becomes apparent, and before they know it, three months have flown by. The entire group is whisked off to Ireland for a lavish wedding at Paul’s opulent country estate. At the airport, Maddie has her own meet-cute moment when she mistakenly picks up the suitcase of a charming English photographer named James, played by Ed Speleers, instead of her own. After sorting out the confusion, they end up sharing a bus ride from the airport to the countryside. During the journey, they exchange banter, leading to a mutual dislike. However, while taking a walk after settling in at the estate, Maddie comes across a stone wishing chair. In a spontaneous moment, she gives in to the playful encouragement of Saint Brigid, portrayed by Dawn Bradfield, and makes a wish. With great excitement, Maddie exclaims, “I wish I were marrying Paul Kennedy.” Just as she speaks these words, a gust of wind swirls pink blossoms around her like a fairytale, and she is carried away into the whirlwind of fate.
